Table Mathematics!

Today, Year 4 have been flexing their mathematical muscles by demonstarting their recent proficiency towards grid method multipliation! These messy multiplications showed the children’s grasp and they fully enjoyed themselves. Whether this enjoyment came from the maths or writing on the tables, remains to be seen!

Introducing… Year 4 Explanation Text Experts!

In Year 4’s English Cycle, we shall be writing explanation texts all about the human body for our expedition, ‘What Makes Us Human?’. These explanatory pieces of writing shall be aimed towards the infant school reception children and such, our texts need a friendly narrator! That’s where these characters come in… Today, we have been creating our explanation text narrators who are going to tell the infant children all about the human body and it must be said, they do look fantastic so far. I’m sure they can’t wait to explain all about science to the reception children!

A busy first couple weeks!

It has been a busy start to life for 4TE. Pictured below are some images from when the children were tasked with creating a bridge during Crew Week and as they flexed their architectural minds, they had a brilliant time!

The French Revolution at Campsmount Come Dancing 2024 🪩

On Thursday 21st March, a team of twenty-one dancers took part in the annual Campsmount Come Dancing competition. After four months of weekly practice, their collective efforts and commitment culminated in a captivatingly dramatic performance in front of four judges and a raucous crowd of local parents and carers.

With strong competition from other local junior teams in Askern Spa, Barnburgh and Kirk Smeaton, The Norton Junior School dance team captured their audience with a energetic and emotive performance, based on the French Revolution, with accompanying music from Les Miserables. Just when staff and parents could not have been more proud, the team secured a perfect score of 40/40 and came first place in the competition. Spectacular effort! 🪩

Wonderful World Book Day!

A wonderful World Book Day was enjoyed by all yesterday! The children in 4TE started the day being welcomed into school by Willy Wonka himself! Then, they spent the morning with Year 3 before becoming immersed in all things pirates in the afternoon! It was a really lovely day and a great way to end the week!

🎶🎵Young Voices 2024🎵🎶

What an amazing time children from NJS had at the 2024 Young Voices concert. The Young Voices experience is not just a children’s choir concert but the largest children’s choir concert in the world. All members of staff were so proud of the way the children put their all into singing each of the songs and the dance moves were pretty cool too! 😊

Primary School Christmas Musical

A massive well done to the fabulous children who took part in the Christmas musical last night. They put on a super performance, sang their hearts out and delivered their lines like oscar worthy actors. Their hard work, giving up their lunch times, staying after school and being pulled out of classes paid off, with them giving a performance of a lifetime. Well done to everybody who took part, we are incredibly proud of you!

Dipping, diving and dodging @ Trust Games Year 3/4 Dodgeball

On a very chilly first of December, a team of 10 year 3/4 dodgeballers has the pleasure of competing at Carcroft Primary School against the other schools within the XP trust. All played exceptionally well and demonstrated agility as well as great throwing and catching skills, which subsequently landed the team in second place overall. Well done to the other teams!
