Happy Friday! I cannot believe we have already reached the end of our second week back at school but what can I say, time flies when you’re having fun and the children have been having a fantastic time these past couple weeks. From team-building activities last week such as tower building, to becoming fully immersed in all things Roman this week for hook week, the children have been doing it all!
Tag Rugby Tournament!
This week, two teams made their way to Campsmount Academy to take part in a tag rugby tournament for year 3/4 and 5/6. Both teams played well, showing speed, agility and plenty of teamwork.
Notable mentions to Charlie in year 4 and Reggie in year 6 for their impressive performances and leadership during the tournament.
Norton Campus Coronation Celebration
Welcome back Year 4!
Today, we welcomed back all of our children from what was hopefully a lovely Easter break! In Year 4, we will be spending this week immersing ourselves into our new expedition! This term’s expedition, is called ‘Earth Shattering Events’ with the Guiding Question of, ‘What Happens When Nature Strikes!?’. In this expedition, we will be learing all about the natural phenomena which is found on our planet. The children began this learning by creating posters which highlight some of the natural disasters and landforms that can strike upon our planet. Lovely start to the expedition!
Campsmount Come Dancing 💫💫
I couldn’t have been prouder of the children in Yr 4, 5 & 6 who represented Norton Junior School in the Campsmount Come Dancing show. The theme for the show was different genres of dance and our girls danced jazz. Check out the amazing tricks and lifts. Huge thanks to Mrs Gracey who sorted all the costumes.
World Book Day!
It was lovely to celebrate World Book Day this year with many of the school population dressing up as one of their favourite book characters. Year 4 were transferred to 6CC and enjoyed the morning solving riddles and creating their own enchanted story maps with legends for points of interest. There was even enough time for a WBD Kahoot Quiz!
Young Voices 2023
Last week myself and Miss Gate had the absolute please of taking these wonder children to the Utilita Arena in Sheffield for this years Young Voices concert. Each and every child sang from their heart and were exceptionally well behaved. It was such a fantastic night and all staff couldn’t have been prouder!

This expedition, years 3 and 4 have been learning all about circuits and today, it was the turn of 4TE to get their hands well into building their own circuits! As you can see, it looks like they’ve got the hang of it and were wired in!
