Our puppets are well and truly on the way to being completed. This week we have cut out our designs using a seam allowance and used a running stitch to join all the different parts. All the children have worked really hard to make sure their stitches were neat and straight! A great job by all!

What makes a hero?
After learning about the Pop Art movement in the 1960s, our children have been busy creating some eye-catching Pop Art pieces, based on the professions of the experts that visited us last week. The pupils have worked extremely hard to ensure their work is vibrant, bold and exciting. Here is a small selection of their beautiful work.

Progressing with our puppets!
Victorian bread baking
What an amazing week we have had welcoming all our children back into school.
This week, we revisited some ‘lockdown’ learning’ and pulled out the Victorian recipes we created to make bread. Our recipes included many herbs which was believed to help with simple aliments. We included Rosemary, Sage and Dill. The taste test went down a treat!
World Book Day
Both the children in school and at home thoroughly enjoyed getting dressed up as their favourite book characters. The staff in school also had lots of fun recording themselves reading their favourite stories for the children to guess.
NJS travels back in time!

Year 3 and 4 have fully embraced the Victorian era this week! We have evaluated the differences in how the rich and poor lived, focussing on clothing. Check out these poor children, their teachers look super strict!
Terrible Tudors!
Year 6 have been learning about all things Tudor related this week! They have investigated the differences in how the rich and poor lived in the Tudor era, have designed (and some have even made!) their own Tudor clothes and created a Tudor feast fit for a king! The staff are even thinking of bringing some of the Tudor punishments into the classroom…. OFF WITH YOUR HEAD! 😂

What a wonderful time 3HJ had enjoying the recent snow day! Take a look and the magnificent snowmen and ladies constructed by some of the children in our crew! Top effort which certainly deserves a lovely mug of hot chocolate!
Photographs that changed the world!
Well done to all the children in years 5 and 6 for their tremendous hard work this term. They have been on a journey, exploring the development of the camera and how the world has changed as a result of iconic events, remarkable people and even several disasters!
Watch the video here to gain insight into their expedition and let them introduce you to the culmination of our journey: their rather impressive final product!
