This week, year 5 were lucky enough to receive a visit from an expert who spoke knowledgeably about the circulatory system and taught the children the importance of keeping their hearts healthy through a balanced diet, exercise and plenty of sleep! The pupils also had the opportunity to use a stethoscope for some hands on learning! What a treat!
A Royal Celebration
To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee 3LG have been working really hard to learn March of the Golden Guards on the recorder. 3LG have worked really hard since February half term in their weekly recorder lesson, learning lots of new notes, discovering how to read music, practicing different songs and finding out about rhythm and beat.
3LG fieldwork at Brodsworth Hall
Last week 3LG went on our fieldwork to Brodsworth Hall. We spent the day exploring the gardens, following the statue trail and viewing the house. The children asked lots of amazing questions about Brodsworth Hall and Peter Thellusson and as a result found out lots of exciting facts.
3LG were a credit to the school and numerous members of the public approached myself and Mrs Gracey to tell us how well behaved and polite the children were. They were a great representation of our school and all did themselves proud.
🌼🌺 Brodsworth Hall 🌺🌼
On Tuesday, year 3 were lucky enough to visit the beautiful Brodsworth Hall exploring the history of the house and it’s links to the transatlantic slave trade. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the children enjoyed looking at all the original pieces of furniture and artefacts inside.
2022 Chance to Dance Champions
A massive well done to everybody that took part in the Y3 Chance to Dance Easter School. The performance you put on was absolutely amazing.
We are so happy and excited to announce that the winners have been selected and will be starting their tuition at Hazelbiz Performers Academy in September. Well done girls, we can’t wait to see how you get on as your dance journey continues.
Newsround Presenters
Today, 3HJ took on the role of news readers, presenting their research about the Triangular Slave trade and the lives of Equiano and Mary Prince. Each group worked well together to plan and write their scripts which were carefully practised and performed to the whole class. Future journalists in the making!
Mary Prince Presentations
Today the children pretended to be news readers and presented their research from yesterday about Mary Prince. They pretended they were the first people to report on Mary Prince, telling the class everything about her, from her time as a slave to the part she played in the abolition of slavery.

🎶🎵🎤 Young Voices 2022 🎶🎵🎤
What a fabulous time we all had at the long anticipated Young Voices concert in Sheffield Arena last week. Each and every child was an absolute credit to our school and all sang with such passion. The dances moves weren’t too bad either! 😎 Massive thanks to all the staff who accompanied us too!
