5EG can’t wait to invite parents in for their Celebration of Learning, including a talent show! Practicing has began in earnest and the children are excited to show off their amazing talents.

That’s right. The marvellous Mrs Ball and wonderful Mrs Hodgson have been conjuring all sorts delectable delights to try out as per our final product – a jar full of sweet treats. Today, we ran the rule over peppermint creams, cinder toffee, coconut ice (my personal favourite) and fudge. As you can see, they went down an absolute treat with our pupils. It’s just under two weeks (Wednesday 13th July@5pm) until our celebration of learning and we hope to see you all there. Have a great weekend.

Happy Friday – here’s a selection of beautiful work from across the XP Trust this week!

How amazing are our completed pop art pictures in the style of Andy Warhol. We all think they are extremely striking, we hope you agree!! Awesome effort as always from our fabulous year 3 team!

This week, year 3 have been studying pop art by inspirational artist Andy Warhol. We completed a gallery walk, making praises and wonders about some of his most iconic pieces. As you can see, we also had a go at creating our very own pop art pictures using sweets and sugar as inspiration. Check out the vibrant colours and the attention to detail. Great job 3HJ!

A brave team of year three and four children ventured to Askern Cricket Club yesterday for a Campsmount cricket competition. Competing against three other local schools, the children all performed magnificently, demonstrating good tactical awareness and skill. Most of all, their sportsmanship and respect for their team members and the opposition must be celebrated as they recognised the sterling efforts of their competitors during their innings. Well done, team! 👍
Today 5EG were lucky enough to be able to visit Campsmount in preparation for the inevitable Year 7! While there were many anxious faces this morning it was clear to see they all had a great day!

This week, in preparation for creating our own sweet treat, 4TE became connoisseurs, reviews and critics of exisiting sweet products to see what qualities of different products we liked, and maybe didn’t like, to influence our own future creations! It was a lovely break in the midst of test week where everybody focussed and applied themselves to their best abilities! In the same week, we took part in a number of TTRockstar Rock Battles where against strong opposition, we triumphed against the might of Year 6 alongside our fellow Year 4 class, 4GC. What a super week we have had!
