๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿ… Yorkshire Wildlife Park ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿ’

It was certainly a hot one but Year 5 had a wonderful time visiting The Yorkshire Wildlife Park yesterday! The children took part in an endangered animals workshop learning how and why animals are becoming endangered and what we can do to help. Our highlights were definitely spending time with the wallabies and polar bears.

During crew week, our guiding question was โ€“ How can crew be strengthened by acts of service to others? After holding crew sessions, Yr5 decided to litter pick whilst on our walk to Brockadale, visit The Laurels residential home to take gifts and spend time with residents as well as hold a bake sale to raise money for charity.

We are weโ€™re blown away with the amount of donations received across Norton Campus and are excited to share that we raised a whopping ยฃ142.70. As a crew, we will decide where this money goes.

Glorious Sports Day

I couldnโ€™t have been prouder of this wonderful class who were absolutely amazing during sports day today. It was a hot one but the effort they put in was tremendous! Everyone ran their hearts out and the sportsmanship was great to see, congratulating winners and cheering encouragement to those competing! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŽฝ๐Ÿ†

NJS Walk To School Week

This week NJS have been taking part in the Walk With Wildlife Five Day Walking Challenge.

As part of this, we have been using our crew time to discuss how we get to school in a morning, whether this be walking, driving or cycling. This has tied in nicely with our Wise Wednesday crew sessions over the half term, in which we have been debating the benefits of exercise and getting active outside.

We have even taken our walking challenge one step further, walking a mile around our school filed every morning during our crew sessions. We have been clocking up the steps, averaging around 1800 steps!
