We’ve had a superb day undertaking some fieldwork at Eden Camp. The levels of curiosity and questioning by our pupils regarding the various experiences they had was excellent, as was their behaviour. And so our expedition begins!

We have had an amazing first couple of days in Year 6! This week has focused on team building and working together as a crew on all sorts of team tasks. We have had lots of fun and all the children have been fantastic!
What a great start to the new school year! Crew sessions, treasure hunts and a chance to reunite with friends. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds!

And its like they’ve never been gone! Our new year sixes have hit the ground running in their first day back and have spent the day developing both their character and relationships with their new crew members. Well done to the new 6CC children who approached every challenge with tenacity and worked well as a united team to overcome the day’s challenges. 👌🏼💪🏼

I am delighted to reveal that our final product as a result of our y3/4 Expedition: ‘What a Wonderful World’ is now available to buy from the school office. Priced at just £3 – with all proceeds going to the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust – the CD includes several versions of our Dear World track, written and performed by Norton Junior School children in collaboration with our equivalents Carcroft, Plover and Green Top. Additionally, the CD insert includes details of our Expedition, song lyrics and photos from our trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. In summary, it’s brilliant and available now!

On Friday afternoon, year six celebrated the culmination of their time at NJS at the annual leavers BBQ. All enjoyed fun and games as well as some piping hot BBQ grub served up by our very own BBQ connoisseur, Mrs Gracey. We now look forward to the final week of term with our fantastic year six before they leave the nest to begin their journeys in pastures new.

Please remember to dress your child in light, loose clothing and coat them with suncream before they attend school this week. Additionally, please ensure your child brings a water bottle!

What an absolutely glorious day we had visiting Bridlington. We played in the sand, ate ice creams and had a sand castle building competition before enjoying a huge picnic. In the afternoon, we visited the John Bull rock factory and made a stick of peppermint rock. Such a wonderful way to end the school year! These kids are amazing!
