Sports Day Extravaganza

3LG had a fabulous day last week at their very first NJS sports day. Every child tried their hardest, from sprints to egg and spoon races and wellie wang to kick ball, 3LG threw them selves into everything.

Each and every member of the crew displayed amazing sportsmanship, cheering on their friends and congratuating everybody after each event. Well done 3LG!

Y5/6 Cricket Success! 🏏

Sport’s Day Incoming…

Check out this cheeky lot…enstrusted with being chief in charge of photography during our Sport’s Day Practice sesson, and this appears on the camera roll : )

5EG have talent!

5EG can’t wait to invite parents in for their Celebration of Learning, including a talent show! Practicing has began in earnest and the children are excited to show off their amazing talents.

Sweets and Treats

That’s right. The marvellous Mrs Ball and wonderful Mrs Hodgson have been conjuring all sorts delectable delights to try out as per our final product – a jar full of sweet treats. Today, we ran the rule over peppermint creams, cinder toffee, coconut ice (my personal favourite) and fudge. As you can see, they went down an absolute treat with our pupils. It’s just under two weeks (Wednesday 13th July@5pm) until our celebration of learning and we hope to see you all there. Have a great weekend.

Pop art by Andy Warhol

This week, year 3 have been studying pop art by inspirational artist Andy Warhol. We completed a gallery walk, making praises and wonders about some of his most iconic pieces. As you can see, we also had a go at creating our very own pop art pictures using sweets and sugar as inspiration. Check out the vibrant colours and the attention to detail. Great job 3HJ!

Y3/4 Cricket Competition Success! 🏏

A brave team of year three and four children ventured to Askern Cricket Club yesterday for a Campsmount cricket competition. Competing against three other local schools, the children all performed magnificently, demonstrating good tactical awareness and skill. Most of all, their sportsmanship and respect for their team members and the opposition must be celebrated as they recognised the sterling efforts of their competitors during their innings. Well done, team! 👍
