There was much excitment to be had today across both Year 3 and Year 4 as we ventured up to explore Eden Camp and all that it had to offer! The children were becoming immersed into the topic of the Second World War as we shall be exploring that further in this terms expedition. We shall see what else this expedition has to offer in the future and what else we can discover and explore!

Year Three have kicked off our autumn expedition, and their time at NJS, with a bang! We were so excited to learn all about what life was like during World War Two in all the different huts, experiencing everything from The Blitz and civilian life. The children were really enthusiastic and inquisitive and are very eagre to start our expedition “Lest We Forget”.

Just look at those faces! I think they tell a story. We did some great crew building activities yesterday where the skills developed through the process superseded the outcome. An excellent start.

We’ve had a superb day undertaking some fieldwork at Eden Camp. The levels of curiosity and questioning by our pupils regarding the various experiences they had was excellent, as was their behaviour. And so our expedition begins!

We have had an amazing first couple of days in Year 6! This week has focused on team building and working together as a crew on all sorts of team tasks. We have had lots of fun and all the children have been fantastic!
What a great start to the new school year! Crew sessions, treasure hunts and a chance to reunite with friends. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds!

And its like they’ve never been gone! Our new year sixes have hit the ground running in their first day back and have spent the day developing both their character and relationships with their new crew members. Well done to the new 6CC children who approached every challenge with tenacity and worked well as a united team to overcome the day’s challenges. 👌🏼💪🏼
