Crazy Crew Caricatures!

As part of our Friday crew session, 6CC took it upon themselves to creatively reimagine each other through the artistic scope of Caricature.

As you can imagine, the excessively large noses, bulging eyes and wacky jawlines resulted in quite a roar of laughter. Full of smiles and laughter, perfect way to begin the end of the week!

Doncaster Plant Works!

On Monday, 6CC delved into the industrial history of “The Plant” aka Doncaster Plant Works. This organisation provided Victorian Doncaster with new employment opportunities as well as a name for producing some of the world’s most famous locomotives.

Balancing Act!

Year 6 have started a new unit of work in PE tis half term: gymnastics! We began by looking at different kinds of balance. The pupils worked in pairs and offered critique to one another via our praise and wonder protocol to help each other to improve. It was great to see the children collaborating and supporting one another.

What’s the locomotion?

6CC have been thrown into the shoes of historians this week, delving into the history and development of locomotives. Their research has spanned from the Victorian era all the way to present day with their intention being to produce a fact file, either on Google Docs or Slides, to educate the rest of the school and wider community about our expedition. Stay tuned for more info on their creations!

Oops! Neville spoilt the potion again… lucky, 6CC were on hand to fix it!

📍 With Neville (me) ruining the felix felicis potion, it was 6CC’s task to filter the potion back to its original state. Through many stages of experimental filtering and sieving, all groups were able to systematically filtering out gradually smaller solids from the potion until they were left with the clearest liquid they could create. Yet again, each team demonstrated excellent problem-solving, collaborative and communication skills. Awesome effort, Crew Cicero! ✅

Hogwarts Art Work

➖Negative numbers!

After finishing their unit on place value and rounding, 6CC and 6SO explored negative numbers through the medium of a very frustrating ladder climbing game. The tension between the pairs was palpable as the luck of the dice mostly favoured one or none!

Expert Visitor!

HARRY POTTER STUDIOS!

Wow what an amazing day Year 6 had at Harry Potter Studios. The pupils were enthusiastic, beautifully behaved and really did NJS proud. We saw a whole array of magical wonders from flying motorbikes and fire-breathing dragons to gigantic spiders and a goblin bank! It was a truly magical day!

Wicked Wizards

Look at our young Hogwarts students duelling with their homemade wands! The pupils had to decide which ingredients to include inside their wands that reflected their personal qualities. These ranged from unicorn hair to represent honesty to lion claws for courage! The finished wands look fantastic….EXPELLIARMUS!
