Year 6 have started their mini Christmas expedition and were given the guiding question, ‘How did the Victorians influence our Christmas traditions?’ We began by looking at A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and analysing the characters. The pupils took part in a silent conversation whereby they used descriptive vocabulary to describe some of the characters from the story. The vocabulary that they generated will support their character description writing.
