It is the parent / carer’s responsibility to ensure their child attends school every day that it is open and that they are punctual.
School Day Timings
- Start of School Day (Morning Registration): Year 3/Year 4 8.35 am. Pupils arriving after 8.35am will be marked as late.
- Start of School Day (Morning Registration): Year 5/Year 6 8.45 am. Pupils arriving after 8.45am will be marked as late.
- Norton Junior School Office Closes at 9am. After this time pupils will need to be dropped off by parents at the main office at Norton Infant School. After this time pupils will receive an unauthorised mark which impacts on their overall attendance percentage.
- End of Compulsory School Day: Year 3/Year 4 3.05pm
- End of Compulsory School Day: Year 5/Year 6 3.15pm
- Total Compulsory School Hours per Week: 32.5 hours

When reporting an absence, please provide:
- Your child’s full name and class.
- The specific reason for absence (e.g., “Child has a fever and sore throat,” “Appointment at GP”).
- Where possible please share a letter of proof of appointment through letter or text with the Mrs Bradshaw Office Manager
- Expected duration of absence, if known.

To request a leave of absence please complete the leave of absence form which can be accessed on line or via the main school office.
